Guide to Working with FileBrowser

For convenient file management on your server, we have installed FileBrowser. It is a simple yet powerful tool that allows you to work with files directly in your browser β€” just as easily as in Google Drive or Dropbox.

How to Access

Your personal address for working with files: [Example: files.your-site.com] Login and password are provided by your manager in Vaultwarden.

πŸš€ Key Features

1. Upload and Download

  • Upload: Simply drag the needed files from your computer into the browser window. You can also click the "Upload" (Up Arrow) button in the top menu.
  • Download: Select the desired file or folder and click the "Download" (Down Arrow) button.

2. Folder Management

You can create, rename, and delete folders directly in the interface. All changes are instantly reflected on the server.

3. Text Editing

FileBrowser has a built-in code editor. If you need to quickly edit a text file (for example, .txt or .env), simply click on it β€” it will open in the built-in editor.

πŸ”— How to Share a File (Sharing)

One of the most useful features is creating temporary download links. This is convenient if you need to send a large file to a client or partner without uploading it to third-party services.

  1. Select a file or folder.
  2. Click the "Share" icon.
  3. In the pop-up window, you can configure:
    • Expiration: The link can work for 1 hour, 1 day, or indefinitely.
    • Password: You can protect the link with a password.
  4. Click "Generate" and copy the link.

πŸ“± Mobile Version

FileBrowser is fully responsive. You can upload photos or view documents from your smartphone while on the go.

πŸ›‘ Security

Important Rules
  • Do not delete system files: If you see folders like .config, docker-compose.yml, or files whose purpose is unknown to you β€” please do not touch them. This can disrupt the website's operation.
  • Close your session: If you access from someone else's computer, always click the Logout button.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

To protect your data, we recommend enabling 2FA in your FileBrowser profile settings. This adds a second layer of protection to your password.

Tip for Large Archives

If you need to upload many small files, it's better to first pack them into a single ZIP archive on your computer, upload it, and then click the "Unarchive" button inside FileBrowser. This will be 10 times faster.
